One story has dominated the press this morning; that of a mother who committed suicide by setting her car alight, with her disabled daughter also inside it.
Reportedly the family had been terrorised by a gang on their housing estate for 10 years, yet despite repeated calls to the police no action had been taken. Home Secretary Alan Johnson commented today that there were "no excuses" for this failing. Anti-social behaviour has had a lot of press coverage, in particular criticism of ASBOs, yet still it seems that police are failing to provide support for the victims.
