Anger as rape cases go unrecorded

The news today is united in outrage at claims that police are not reporting hundreds of rape cases. Rules state they should only discount claims verified as false, reported to the wrong constabulary or recorded in error from their records.

It has prompted fury from campaigners and MPs who feel police still do not take rape allegations seriously. This comes the week after glamour model Jordan was blasted in the press for her reluctance to report her alleged rape to police.
