Justice minister Claire Ward has pledged £8m over the next 2yrs for re-settlement programmes, in a bid to cut youth reoffending once they leave prison.
Ward stated that breaking the cycle of offending was key to helping young people and creating safer communities.
The move means that young offenders will have more access to information and services such as education, training and job applications.
